 Angels, Horses and Other worldly Lessons is the third book in the children’s chapter book series of Angels and Horses by Kimberly Wilder Wickham. The other two books in the series are Angels and Horses and Summer of Magic Horses. In this series, Tina begins her journey as an anxious middle school girl, sensitive and shy, unable to reconcile herself to many of her life’s challenges. During the difficult times of dealing with the schoolyard bullies and her mother’s failing health, her pet horse Dancer offers her reassurance and comfort. In Angels, Horses and Other worldly Lessons Tina learns to address the many challenges of life and overcomes them with the ‘law of attraction’ and the ‘other worldly solutions’. She learns to look beyond the worries of this world and into the realms of magic and wonder.

 With the help of her guardian angel Marguerite, Tina and her friends Chucky and Polly, learn to transcend the earthly world through the quantum mechanics wave. Crossing the cosmic lattice, they venture to take an adventurous journey in a parallel universe. Here, Tina discovers the strength within herself to rise above her problems and balance the “emotional and personal equations” in her life. The experience also helps her deal with the difficult friendship, and instead of quitting she finally makes it work using strategies she learns ‘off world’.

 As with the first two books in the series, the underlying message of the Angel, Horses and Other Worldly Lessons is grounded in reality and stresses the importance of positive thinking that can genuinely affect the possibility of life working in your favor. This book has succeeded in, an altogether novel way of, imparting philosophy for children through elements of fantasy. This daring tale of cosmic adventures is surely a page turner for middle graders who along with Tina will seek “the depths of information available in the wide universe beyond the average school lesson”. It is a fantastic read for any one who wants to curl up with a good book, and will just leave them wanting for more adventure from Tina and her friends.
